It is hard to believe kids are going back to school. Where did the summer go? People always say time flies, but this summer was gone in the blink of an eye. Usually, I look forward to back to school, but not this year. I am completely unprepared. This summer was unlike any other. We spent most of it at home. With the current state of the economy and prices on everything being so high, I couldn’t find it in the budget to do anything. That’s just another thing to deal with as a single parent. Having to do everything on a single income is really tough. I find it helpful to plan ahead. For instance, I’ll start thinking about what we’ll do for winter break now. Once that is decided and hopefully paid for, I’d look at spring break. Sometime around then I start thinking about summer break again. It’s a vicious cycle I know, but planning is the key to success. And it works for everything if you take the time to do it. Just think about it, we plan for a lot of things in life. So, breaks and vacations should be the same. So, let us welcome our kids back to a healthy and happy school year.
